Spiritual Musings
These past few weeks I was inspired by Daniel Scranton’s channeled video, “Who is Placing Limitations & Restrictions on You?”, (linked below) to write about authenticity and the Authentic Self. At any point in time, we give off varying layers of vibrations. These layers come from both our past self (including past lives) and our present self. Our overall vibration in the moment, whether we realize it or not, is affected by these many layers. Oftentimes, the energies of our past linger, looong after they have served their purpose. And much of the spiritual work we need to do is to uncover these multiple layers of past energies and clear them out. By doing this, we can ensure that our vibration is accurately portraying our true Self and our true desires. We need to make sure our vibration is a true reflection of us, so that we can manifest the positive things we want for ourselves, rather than reliving situations from our past over and over again. As The Creators say, “The now moment is where it’s at.”
To uncover the subconscious energies that are unknowingly affecting us, we must become more self-aware. We must become sooo self-aware, and sooo focused on the now moment, that we can see the underlying motivations behind our actions, thoughts, words, and feelings. You see, if we understand the underlying motivations and reasons for being the way we are in every moment, we can begin to make better choices. In other words, being self-aware in the moment allows you to choose (or to at least backtrack and rethink) your actions, thoughts, and words, because you will start to recognize when you are being inauthentic. Awareness is therefore, key.
“The whole point of this human experience is to become more of you, so you might as well get to know yourself better.” — The Creators
It’s like the saying, “Get busy living, or get busy dying” (Reminder to myself to rewatch Shawshank Redemption). We can continue to bury our heads in the sand and ignore the calls from our Authentic Self, OR we can get busy living authentically! The choice is individually ours.
And yet, many of us are afraid of what we might find once we start digging. But YOU are the only one who can do the work. YOU are the only one that holds the key to unlocking your Authentic Self. Society, culture, parents, caregivers, friends, even strangers may have all done something in your past that caused you to hide. Because of what someone did or said to you a long time ago (or even last week!), you’ve decided to hide your true, beautiful Self in some way. Someone made you feel stupid, ugly, or weird. So you added another layer of protection over you to avoid the discomfort, embarrassment, or pain. And that negative energy has stuck with you, hidden in your subconscious perhaps, and it continues to weigh you down. These hidden layers of negative, inauthentic beliefs affect your vibration so much, and provide so much resistance, that they keep you from living an authentic, joyous life full of purpose, freedom, and creativity. They keep you from living a life you would love!
You likely already know that your (and by that I mean everyone’s) purpose in life is to learn to be the most authentic, truest version of yourself possible — regardless of what others may think of you. That unique expression of divinity that you are, that energetic point of unconditional love, is absolutely beautiful in every single way. Yes, even if others may think you’re “weird”! Remind yourself, your authenticity may make others uncomfortable, and that’s ok. If they are living behind layers upon layers of shadows, your authenticity may bring them discomfort because you remind them of their own truth. But remember, what others think of you is none of your business. And we are each on our own unique journey. Perhaps by becoming your own True Self, they will start to recognize their own true selves more.
Just remember, you need to know yourself in order to be yourself. And it all starts with self-awareness.

Vibe Check
Monday | Mar. 31 | Waxing Crescent in Taurus
When the waxing crescent moon is in Taurus, it’s a time to build solid foundations for future goals. Taurus energy encourages us to take tangible steps toward achieving our goals (including the self-awareness goals listed below).
The waxing crescent moon is the beginning stages toward reaching the full moon and encourages us to have a growth mindset. I would encourage you to embrace the growth mindset when it comes to living more authentically. Between now and April 5th is the perfect time to start expressing your true self to others around you.
Take some time to nurture the physical body as well. Take a bubble bath as you work on the journaling prompts. Or go on a meditative walk in nature while you contemplate your relationships and your ability to be your true self with those people. Focus on the practical steps you can start taking in those relationships (see the list below). The energy of this moon will help you create a more stable, secure environment which will bring out your authenticity in brand new ways.
Saturday | Apr. 5 | First Quarter in Cancer
When it’s a first quarter moon, especially in watery Cancer, take time for emotional reflection, nurturing your inner self, and pushing through insecurities to express yourself more fully and authentically. Being half in shadow, this moon can emphasize self-doubt. Do some self-reflection to resolve internal conflicts and your confidence in your authentic self can begin to shine. Now is the time for reevaluation and decision-making. You’ll need a clear, balanced head to reach your goals successfully. Focus on clarity and balance to help you continue to reevaluate your relationships.
Sunday | Apr. 6 | Waxing Gibbous in Leo
The waxing gibbous in Leo is all about confident, creative self-expression. Take stock of your journey and keep refining your path towards your goals. Take a step back to focus on the bigger picture, making sure you are still on the right path. Leo encourages you to embrace your inner leader and move forward with inspiration as it comes to you. Try an artistic exercise that focuses on pure freedom of expression that leaves criticism out of the experience.
Channel the Leo energy and lead with your heart - put your creative energy into your projects and express your unique voice and talents. But be careful of the shadow side of Leo, as it can push us into the energy of arrogance, boastfulness, and emotional detachment from others while our drive and focus are ignited.
Sunday | Apr. 13 | Full Moon in Libra
When the full moon is in Libra, it’s a time for balance in all things, both personally and for the Collective. Being ruled by Venus, Libra also encourages us to evaluate our relationships and partnerships to rebalance the scales, if needed. Make sure you are fostering healthy, balanced relationships that support your core values, so that your needs and desires are being met. This means prioritizing your needs and setting personal boundaries, as well as ensuring you are allowing your authentic self to be expressed in these relationships.
Look at other areas of life to determine if things are out of whack - professionally and personally. The bright, unwavering light of the full moon, in addition to the balanced scales of Libra, bring awareness to the injustice around us. Now is a good time to advocate for what you believe is right.

In-The-Now-Moment Questions to Ask Yourself:
Why am I acting in this particular way right now?
Why am I having these thoughts and are they aligned with my Authentic Self?
Am I being fully present with myself in this moment? And if not, why?
Journal Prompts:
What was I like when I was young, when I was “myself”? What qualities do I miss about him/her?
What baggage have I picked up since I was little? What do I feel like I can no longer do or say because of how others might judge me?
Are there relationships I have in my life that make me feel like I have to box myself in to make others comfortable and to feel accepted?
Who or what energizes me? What feeds my soul and makes me feel alive?
Who or what drains me of energy?
Exercises:
Share your true self with others, even if it's uncomfortable. Be open to receiving feedback (even if it might be negative). Consider others feelings, but remember that your own free expression is more important than anyone else’s opinion.
Practice expressing your thoughts and feelings authentically and respectfully, even when it's difficult. When you have a thought or feeling you would normally leave unsaid, express it! Again, do so respectfully if you disagree, but make your voice heard. If others can’t handle your truth, that is their problem, not yours.
Learn to say "no" to things (and people) that don't align with your values and needs — protect your time and energy.
Surround yourself with people who value your authenticity and encourage you to be your true self. Examine your relationships to see who appreciates the real you versus the ones that you feel like you need to be or act a certain way in order to be accepted by them.
Continue to make small, consistent steps towards living as your authentic self. I promise you will start to feel more and more free with each opportunity.
